This program is sponsored through the ACCESS (Advancing Careers, Competencies, and Equity in Substance Treatment Services) grant. Employees must be >0.6 FTE to be eligible. 50% of the bonus will be received 90 days after signing the program contract. Program is available until grant funds are exhausted.

Job Summary
The Psychologist, Adult provides clinical services to adults. This doctoral level professional provides individual psychotherapy, expert diagnostic assessment, case coordination, and case management. Couples, family or group psychotherapy may also be provided. Standardized psychological testing may be performed but is not a core component of this job. The Psychologist is expected to have skills and abilities with a wide range of moderate to severe psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety, psychosis, and sequelae of traumatic stress. Multicultural competence is essential. This position functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team and provides clinical leadership for other staff members and for trainees working with the team.
There are additional opportunities to be involved in data monitoring and research projects. The Psychologist participates as a faculty member for the accredited internship program and participates in provision of supervision and teaching. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Outpatient Psychologists will work in an outpatient clinic where they have a caseload for which they provide assessment, brief interventions, and long-term psychotherapy.
Essential Functions:
Provide high quality clinical services to individuals referred to behavioral health, including evidence-based behavioral health interventions and services that are appropriate to the biopsychosocial needs of adult patients. (40%)
Consult with other health providers as part of the interdisciplinary team and generate recommendations, referrals, and case management for patient as needed. (10%)
Conduct diagnostic screening of patients using evidence-based assessments and screening tools. (10%)
Conduct in-depth diagnostic assessments and safety/risk assessments as needed. (10%)
Generate documentation of assessment and intervention in the medical record in a timely manner. (10%)
Participate in teaching and didactics as part of the training faculty of the Division of Psychology for postdoctoral fellows, pre-doctoral residents and practicum students. (10%)
Participate in program improvement and/or academic efforts to support department and organizational initiatives or to generate academic productivity. (10%)
Participates in clinical education of healthcare students as seen fit by the supervising medical staff (0%)
Education:
Doctorate Degree in psychology from an accredited school Required
Work Experience:
less than 1 year One year of postdoctoral experience preferred but will consider newly licensed psychologists
Licenses:
PSY-Licensed Psychologist - State Board of Psychologist Examiners Required and
BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge and skills in effective psychological practice, including evidence-based therapy modalities, crisis intervention, and risk assessment.
Knowledge of patient populations’ cultural, religious, ethnic, and social systems in interactions, care planning, and education.
Basic knowledge of medical terms, abbreviations, diagnoses, treatment, and prognosis.
Excellent interpersonal skills and motivation to work as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team in a medical setting.
Skill in providing care appropriate to the biopsychosocial needs of the patients served within the clinic setting.
Skill in establishing a therapeutic alliance and engaging the patient in collaborative goal setting and prioritizing patient needs.
Ability to participate as a faculty member with the Division of Medicine and provide teaching and supervision as needed for the psychology internship training program through the Department of Psychiatry.
Ability to respond to feedback and incorporate it into practice.
Ability to manage the therapeutic relationship including referring patient to necessary services and termination.
Ability to respond to trauma or psychiatric emergency including writing involuntary mental health holds.
Microsoft Office skills required.
Knowledge of electronic health record preferred.
