Role Purpose
In addition to managing incoming calls, scheduling patients with providers, and completing necessary medical office tasks this position acts as the liaison between the psychology department and patients, potential patients, and referring providers. This position requires flexibility to perform duties from any department location as needed. The Intake Liaison is responsible for ensuring seamless patient scheduling and verification of patient insurance coverage for anticipated psychological services.
Responsibilities
Managing up-to-date and having continuous understanding of insurance benefits related to psychological services; including but not limited to CPT and ICD-10 knowledge, authorizations, single case agreements, copay/coinsurance
Adhere to system and department policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient workflow optimizing the electronical medical record system used.
Perform medical office responsibilities and tasks.
Schedule patients with appropriate department providers based on referrals received through the electronic medical record system or fax; scheduling includes but is not limited to determining appointment date and time, sending and obtaining new patient paperwork, verifying insurance benefits and obtaining authorization, coordinating with multi-disciplinary clinics.
Manage department phone line and triage incoming calls as well as responding appropriately to medical record requests, completing affidavits and obtaining notarizations when necessary.
